Integration or segregation?
I am really confused. The Bee headline on May 18 states “GAO: U.S. Schools are resegregating.” The article states that “poor, black and Hispanic children are becoming increasingly isolated from their white, affluent peers in the nation’s public schools.”
In The Bee on the same day, different page, we have an article listing all of the Fresno State graduation events at different times and locations: the American Indian graduation ceremony, the LGBTQ+ graduates recognition program, the CAMP migrant student graduation, the African American recognition program, the Asian American and Pacific Islander graduation ceremony, the 40th Chicano/Latino commencement celebration.
Just what is it that people want: integration or segregation?
