GOP establishment holds the Trump card
I find it ironic that Donald Trump resoundingly trounced all the “Republican establishment” candidates in his run through the Republican primaries, and yet, the Republican establishment has failed to heed the message: Many in the GOP are very discontent with the Republican establishment!
Now, instead of conducting a thorough review of the source of all that discontent, and then modifying its positions to agree with many of its own party, it refuses to budge. In fact, it’s become more entrenched in inflexible positions and now insists that Trump modify his positions to agree with the establishment.
This contradicts his entire campaign. So what was the point of his candidacy in the first place? The establishment has Trump between a rock-and-a-hard-spot. If he doesn’t go along with it, it won’t help fund his run for the presidency.
So, all you Trumpeteers out there, get ready to be really disappointed with the outcome of the presidential election. If Hillary Clinton doesn’t beat your candidate, what you’re going to get in the White House is very watered-down version of the Trump you voted for in the primaries – just another “front man” for the Republican establishment. If nothing changes, nothing changes!
