We are blessed to have the Wagners
I am a former foster parent and currently a CASA volunteer. Whatever my family has done to help children pales in comparison to what Jeri and Steve Wagner have done for children in their home.
As I read the excellent Mother’s Day Bee article about this couple, words like “siblings, older children, adolescents, special needs and not giving up on the children” spoke huge volumes because those words reflect commitments I know from experience very, few people are willing to make.
Jeri and Steve Wagner are in their years when slowing down and retirement should be part of their future. But with the commitments they have made to” their” children, their future holds an endless set of challenges – which they have accepted with unwavering love to those who need it far more than most can imagine.
They know what they are doing because they obviously raised their own children in the right, caring way as shown in the paragraph about their daughter who encouraged her parents to taken in a special education student from her school.
Tears welled up each time I read the article. Children and this community are truly blessed by the Wagners.
