Lyft, soon Uber, offer airport rides

On May 3, a letter to the editor was published concerning Lyft and Uber being banned from operating at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT). I would like to take this opportunity to point out that Lyft has been providing travelers with service to and from Fresno Yosemite International Airport since February. We are actively working with Uber so that they, too, can operate at FAT.

Prior to serving at any airport in California, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) mandates transportation network companies, such as Lyft and Uber, to first meet the requirement of the CPUC then obtain an operating permit from the airport. An agreement between the airport and Lyft met the specific requirement of the CPUC to allow Lyft to operate here.

Fresno Yosemite International Airport is excited to work with Lyft, and soon with Uber, to provide this popular transportation option for our passengers.

Lyft passenger drop-off at Fresno Yosemite International Airport is in front of the airport terminal, similar to other motorists providing transportation to the airport. Drivers pick up passengers curbside at the designated area between the front of the terminal and baggage claim.
