Homeless cause unsafe work conditions
Homelessness “again.” I have written about this before when the census was going on and our village was not counted around the Lorena Avenue and Third Street area southeast of downtown Fresno.
We still have our homeless just around the corner of my office. The population has increased, there are more “homes” going up and they don’t even hide their dwellings behind the bushes anymore.
There is much trash, wood piles, furniture and dogs who attack us when we walk outside. Some of our employees have been threatened with bodily harm. We have even started locking the doors of our workplace during business hours.
The property in question is considered to be in Fresno County so when police come, they tell us to contact the county … to no avail. We are told when the “actual problem” is happening, they will come out.
I don’t really know who is responsible for policing this property, but it would be really nice to feel safe when I come to work.
