Valley’s ‘F’ in air quality is well deserved
The front page of The Bee on April 21 reads “Lung Association gives Valley air an ‘F’ grade.” The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District states all kinds of excuses from “old data from 2012-2014 and five years of drought.”
However, we all know how bad the pollution is in our Valley. So how do our city and county officials attack this major problem? They give the developers free rein to build hundreds more houses. We now can expect many more automobiles, lawn mowers and backpack blowers to bring even more pollution.
Maybe they’re trying to compete with China as the biggest polluter in the world. Hey, Fresno County is finally on the map for something.
