Obama boasts don’t match the record
I didn’t get the memo. The president says that everything is looking up and the middle class is thriving once again. What’s wrong with all those wild Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump supporters? Why all the anger and the talk about the disappearing middle class and income inequality from the presidential contenders?
The president also says America is flourishing because of a return to the values that made this country great. Like religious freedom, the sanctity of marriage and the nuclear family, the rule of law as outlined in the Constitution? Well, maybe not so much.
But, hey, he’s won some great victories for California agriculture, except that if he doesn’t push to ensure that Central California farmers get their traditional share of water from the California Aqueduct System there won’t be much California agriculture left.
He poses as a friend of business but his disdain for private sector business is palpable. Remember, “You didn’t build that.” Due to a regulatory bureaucracy run amok there are now more business closures than start-ups annually for the first time in over 30 years.
We’re not stupid, Mr. President. Give your rotator cuffs a break by not patting yourself on the back so much.
