Carter says she supports Fresno fire chief

A recent article in The Bee seemingly tried to imply that there is a conflict between Fresno Fire Chief Kerri L. Donis and me. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have the utmost respect for her and what she has accomplished as Fresno’s first woman fire chief.

I support her completely and am doing all I can to encourage our elected officials to immediately take action to give our chief the resources she needs to keep our firefighters and community safe.

While I may have been off in a few of the numbers, the fact remains the Fresno City Fire Department is in great need of additional resources to offer the level of safety our citizens expect and deserve.

Once elected, I look forward to working with Chief Donis, and I will continue to be a strong supporter of her leadership of the Fresno Fire Department.
