It’s really an immoral labor tax

It is that time of year again; individual income tax is due. Effectively in our system, there is little distinction between “income tax” and tax on wages or labor. But there should be.

Tax on dividends, interest, capital gains, etc., is a very different source derivative than tax on wages. Tax on wages is akin to involuntary servitude. Morally speaking, how can we as a nation denounce slavery in one breath and yet tax a person’s labor in another? Is the morality of it then a matter of degree or percentages?

So as the current gathering of candidates for president promise this “flat” tax or that “fair” tax, ask yourself: Have any of them proposed abolishing the labor tax?
