My encounter with ‘lawless’ bicyclists

With regard to recent letters on bicycles and the rules of the road, I submit the following:

On April 3, while headed west on Gettysburg Avenue, I had to wait at the stop light at Sunnyside Avenue before turning right onto Sierra Vista Parkway. As the light turned green and I proceeded through the intersection, three bicyclists came speeding around the corner from Sierra Vista Parkway and headed east onto Gettysburg.

They blew through the red light at their intersection and continued to travel on the north side of Gettysburg against the flow of traffic.

One of them signaled to me to slow down even though I was traveling no more than 10-15 miles per hour at the time. I could only shake my head in disbelief and think that it was just another day in the Valley, where motorists are implored to share the road with selfish and lawless bicyclists.
