Costa works hard for water and veterans
I have to take issue with Russ Waymire’s letter of April 5 where he essentially puts blame on Congressman Jim Costa for our water issues in the Valley.
Nothing could be further from the facts. In addition to reaching across the aisle to work with other legislators to bring some resolve to everyone’s satisfaction regarding water, his efforts are ongoing. And, as we hopefully accumulate more water, things will change if all of us, including farmers, continue to be prudent regarding our plantings and usage.
Costa also has been a leader in legislation to address the needs of our veterans in health care and housing.
It would be a dramatic mistake to not support Costa in his re-election bid, because he has built great relationships over time, is totally accessible to anyone who needs help, and sits on numerous committees that, through seniority, will take a new congressman years to achieve.
Whether you are a Republican or Democrat, he continues to deserve our support.
