Why the silence on Virginia trooper’s killing?
Where is the outrage? James Brown III fatally shot Virginia state trooper Chad Dermyer at the Greyhound bus station in Richmond, Virginia, on March 31.
I’ve watched for the protest demonstrations; I’ve seen none. I’ve watched for President Obama to announce that the Justice Department will investigate; no news yet. There hasn’t been any looting or rioting to expel the anger and frustration of the community. Not one word from Al Sharpton or the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
What’s ironic is that the people that so much want us all to understand and embrace that “Black Lives Matter” do not stand up to demonstrate their understanding and belief that all lives matter. An open and honest condemnation of this police officer’s murder with an acknowledgment that it’s a community tragedy by the activist leaders would go a long way in achieving a spirit of mutual multiethnic respect.
