Armenians appreciate congressional efforts
I and other members of the local Armenian community appreciate the ongoing support and involvement of our four Valley members of Congress, Reps. Jim Costa, Jeff Denham, Devin Nunes and David Valadao, in Armenian issues. We value their contributions.
In the days leading up to the visit of Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev to Washington, D.C., this week, more than 50 U.S. Representatives joined with leaders of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in calling upon President Obama to pressure President Aliyev to stop obstructing the implementation of the life-saving Royce-Engel peace proposals for Nagorno Karabakh. Our four congressmen were among the first in line as co-signers of the letter to President Obama.
Azerbaijan has breached the ceasefire agreement numerous times. Ensuring that peace-keeping measures are implemented and functioning is key for the safety of the people of Nagorno Karabakh. We are pleased to have such exceptional and supportive congressmen, whose actions are noted and appreciated by many of their constituents.
