It’s time to let in some sunshine at Fresno City Hall – especially when it comes to Fresno parks.
Community leaders and advocates, including the League of Women Voters, working with Fresno Building Healthy Communities pushed and succeeded to get the Fresno City Council to update the outdated Parks Master Plan. That was several months ago. Since then, we haven’t heard much – only that the city was in the middle of selecting a vendor to complete the plan.
The Parks Master Plan update needs to be a community-driven process. The lack of transparency is holding up a process that was called for by Fresno residents.
The city needs to move forward with the Parks Master Plan and include everyone in our community to create more and better parks throughout our city.
