Let’s try guns for everyone

The gun genie is out of the bottle and will never be stuffed back in. So maybe, after decades of failed attempts at so-called common-sense approaches to gun control to protect the masses, it’s time to try things in the other direction.

Let’s give everybody guns! After all, isn’t that the patriotic rhetoric? We have a right to keep and bear arms; when seconds count the police are minutes away and all that? So do away with any permit nonsense and just give us all guns to carry right out in the open.

If you’re poor and can’t afford a gun, one will be given to you without charge. Who needs an “Obama phone,” where’s my Obama gun?

Of course, the first people to be up in arms over this would be the National Rifle Association, because they don’t really want everyone to have guns, just the white – or the right people – to have them.
