Letters to the Editor

Carter lost his high moral ground in ’09

Since Lloyd Carter has arrogantly decided to anoint himself the moralist of Valley in his letter March 16, allow me to remind the public of his thoughts about Valley farmworkers from February of 2009.

“They aren’t even American citizens for starters. What parent raises their child to be a farmworker? These kids are the least educated in America, they turn to lives of crime, they go on welfare, they get into drug trafficking and they join gangs,” Carter said.

So the next time Carter feels like passing judgment on Westlands Water District, or members of Congress, or anyone else, it would be wise of him to remember the contempt that he and many radical environmentalists have for the people of the Valley.

That’s some free advice; the next time maybe I will send him a bill.
