Why the dearth of GOP ideas?

I’m neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I vote for whom I think is best for the country. Not just me – the entire country. I’m 51. I started paying attention to the issues at around 15.

I’m curious to know why this issue has never come up: What Republican administration or politician has made a meaningful attempt at bringing health care coverage to all Americans?

Obamacare certainly needs modifications, but it’s clear that most Americans like some aspects of it. Why isn’t it brought up that the Republicans just want to destroy it because it’s a Democratic idea?

Medicare, Social Security and financial aid for higher education also are all Democratic ideas. How many conservative seniors and college students want those programs brought to an end, too?
