Board of Supervisors created this trouble
I was an employee in the department of Child Protective Services when it was stripped to the bone. Social workers continually complained about excessive workloads and not enough help. At the same time, the Fresno County Board of Supervisors lowered wages while giving themselves a gluttonous raise.
The scapegoats in the death of Seth Ireland, of course, are the social workers – especially since the a civil suit might cost the county millions of dollars.
Conversely, when I was a social work specialist in the U.S. Army, we were fully staffed to support the fighting men and women.
Now millions are very likely to be taken from the county because of previous decisions to cut employees and pay, which most likely will affect the employees again.
Cutting employees in departments should have been looked at very carefully before taking action so quickly. There was no desperation to do it.
Now further damage is coming.
Hopefully, the public might have an idea who is responsible.
