Put ‘respect’ back into politics
Regardless who wins the Democratic and Republican primaries, this looks to be a very interesting presidential campaign. What is greatly lacking in the Republican primary process and also will be lacking in the presidential campaign is respect.
This, unfortunately, has spilled over onto the general population where if one person does not agree with another choice, that person is called “stupid” or any of a dozen other names. This seems to come from the “Let’s attack the other candidate and make him or her look less desirable and, in that way, I will look better” attitude.
This behavior is what we try to teach our children not to do. Adults seem to forget it and the Republican candidates have definitely forgotten it. I have no party affiliation and was seriously looking at all the candidates prior to the debates; now I’m only looking at the two who simply argue the issues.
