Questions about Cepeda’s sterilization column
Esther J. Cepeda’s column (Jan. 29) on the PBS documentary that tells “our terrible history of forced sterilizations” in Los Angeles during the late 1960s should be more explicit.
How old were the women? Did they have stable homes? How many children did they already have, and what were the children’s chances for a stable future or education?
And were counseling, adoption, abortion, etc., available to them then?
