Hypocrisy in Clovis trustee’s thinking
I was dumbfounded with the argument that Clovis Unified School District trustee Ginny Hovsepian used to explain why the board majority voted to fight changes to the dress code.
Did it not occur to her how hypocritical she was in saying “Just because it’s the law doesn’t mean we need to put up with it. … ”
Is that then how CUSD students should approach the dress code rules? Just because it’s the rule doesn’t mean we should put up with it? She instructed them not to put up with something they don’t agree with just because others decided it was right, and that quietly succumbing to individuals who institute overreaching rules, that don’t align with their values, is un-American.
How come her beliefs supersede the law, but the students and many parents of CUSD need to conform to hers and those of the board?
