Ready to battle ACLU on Clovis dress code
I like to give a huge thank you to the four Clovis Unified School District trustees who had the courage to vote in favor of keeping the current dress code.
As a product of Clovis Unified and a parent with two young children attending Clovis schools, I can attest to how the dress code creates a positive learning environment without the distractions that go with an overly lenient code. There are many reasons why Clovis Unified ranks among the top school districts in California and the dress code certainly contributes greatly to that.
The Americal Civil Liberties Union is a bully organization that can be defeated like it was before. The cost of any litigation is a pittance compared to the effect a change in the dress code will have on our students. I will be among the first to contribute to a legal fund to fight any resistance.
We are ready to stand and fight the ACLU. Parents who oppose the current dress code are free to send their children elsewhere. The three trustees who voted against it might want to apply for an out-of-district transfer.
