Bacon, Pitts, Assemi make good reading
I very much enjoyed the Jan. 24 Opinion section in The Bee. I wish everyone in America would be able to read Darius Assemi’s op-ed piece, “Don’t let terrorists define American Values.” The irrational hatred against 1.5 billion people faithful to a religion is an insult to everything we stand for in America.
I particularly liked the line, “Just as we would never link the Ku Klux Klan with Christianity, Wahhabism is not Islam.” Thank you, Mr. Assemi.
Again, Armen D. Bacon has written a poignant column, this time on caring for an aging mother, very touching, and something we all may face sooner or later.
And Leonard Pitts Jr.’s column on Sarah Palin’s blame-shifting her son’s misbehavior on President Obama was spot on. Ms. Palin is a poster child for Mothers of Dysfunctional Families.
I enjoyed all three with my morning coffee. Got the day off to a good start.
