Youth conservation corps impresses
During a recent tire amnesty event with the county, I observed the local youth conservation corps in action. These young men and women did an exceptional job during an eight-hour shift of stacking used tires in cargo vans. They worked hard, were very respectful and had a great attitude during the entire day.
It was very refreshing to see the younger generation overcome their obstacles in life and not sit around and blame everyone and everything else for their circumstances. They own their future and realize that, through hard work and responsibility, they can be and do anything they want.
A special shout-out to Jennifer Duran and James Brown for the excellent leadership roles they displayed. Please support these worthy young men and women.
