Delaware North holds history hostage
In forcing name changes of the iconic Ahwahnee and Wawona hotels, Curry Village and Badger Pass, Delaware North is holding hostage the history of our beloved Yosemite.
Apparently, the corporation is prepared to accomplish the same theft in many other national parks if their management contract is in jeopardy. Delaware North should not have any further business with the National Park Service.
The value of our national parks is not just in their beauty and the activities to enjoy right now, but in the entire experience of Native American and pioneer use and adventure over the centuries. To erase that history is to devalue our parks.
