Let’s pass the federal Peace Tax Fund

For possibly four decades, there has been an ongoing effort to have the federal government establish a Peace Tax Fund. This fund would be designed to provide an avenue for citizens, required by law, to pay the full amount due on their income, to have the option of channeling the large percentage of income tax, designated for “defense, war costs (past and present)” into the Peace Fund.

I am one of many citizens who maintains that all killing of humans is wrong and violates my Christian beliefs. So with each federal tax payment, I’m reminded that the tax law “mandates” my total tax due payment.

I firmly believe in “the power of one” – each of us has a voice. Join me in contacting your Washington, D.C., elected officials. Ask them to add their positive action efforts to finally establish the Peace Tax Fund, House Resolution 2377, fulfilling the stated goals of the First Amendment.
