Obama forced to go it alone on gun control
They say “seeing is believing,” but I think “believing is seeing.” As I read the Letters to the Editor, it is apparent that people “see” or “interpret” issues according to their belief systems.
I’m responding particularly to the Jan. 10 letter by Bill Atwood, “President snubs American people.” President Obama is responding to the wishes of the majority of Americans who want some form of gun control, and because he rarely has the cooperation of a Congress that does not respect him.
It has openly declared that it does not want his administration to succeed. He made an executive decision and is “going it alone” on gun control.
Hurrah for him! He is not perfect. No one is. However, he is a good man who loves his country and is trying to keep Americans safe under his watch.
He has had to fight Congress every step of the way. I wonder how much better this country would be if he and Congress had been able to work together to bring safety and peace to our people and our world.
