Reagan was fan of executive orders

I found my friend Bill Atwood’s letter published on Jan. 10 to be particularly amusing.

Dr. Atwood can look this up at: http://53eig.ht/1t8xok8

This chart shows the number of executive order per year for all our presidents. Obama has issued 35.6 per year. You have to go all the way back to President Grover Cleveland to find a president issuing fewer than that.

Dr. Atwood’s hero, President Ronald Reagan, issued 47.6 per year, 42 percent more than Obama. Did that make him an imperial president who did not respect the separation of powers or the Constitution?

Ed Bailey, Oakhurst
