ABC30’s Christine Park: Thank you, Valley residents
I never imagined, when I was a 23-year-old, fresh-faced wannabe reporter, that 15 years later, I would be reflecting on such a long and exciting career at ABC30. And through it all, you, the viewers, welcomed me into your homes and embraced me as one of your own. From the horrors of the Marcus Wesson murders to the excitement of opening night at Save Mart Center, we’ve been through a lot together.
I was proud to be an ambassador for the Central Valley, wherever I went. Whether I was at Disneyland, Monterey, or shopping at Costco, you would approach me with kindness and camaraderie. As I pursue the next chapter of my life in San Diego, I leave a piece of my heart with you. I will always consider the Central Valley my home. There is no place like it, and I will miss the sizzling summers and foggy winters (not really).
While packing for my move, I’m trying to squeeze in as much as possible … a visit to the Chaffee Zoo’s new African Exhibit, sledding and ice skating at Tenaya Lodge, meals at my favorite restaurants. Until next time, thank you, Central Valley!
