We need to look into the mirror

As we enter this year of elections, we are being subjected to “below the belt” mudslinging insults. The goal is to get elected by implanting fear in voters. We are becoming “fodder” for other countries that would love to see this political tactic destroy our country.

Our nation was built on generations of ethnicities and cultures. They have made us who we are. While I do recognize that there are “bad seeds” among us, must we profile and punish every human being because of a few bad seeds?

A phrase which seems to have gained much momentum and has become a marker of who we are is “being transparent.” It’s obvious to me that hatred is taking over common sense and is dividing our nation. That, my friends, is most transparent. It’s time to re-examine who we are!
