Obama’s gun-control measures offend me
The president’s announcement of executive orders to “improve” gun control offends and angers me on so many levels. First and foremost, the Middle East, and possibly the whole world, is racing toward meltdown while he was “fiddling” on vacation and the first thing he addresses is not Islamic terrorism but gun control.
What he proposes will have minimal, if any, effect on gun violence, arguably less than aggressively enforcing the many laws already on the books.
What offends me most is this politically driven, blatant manipulation of the media and of the “useful idiots” in his base who believe what he proposes is legal, urgently important and will be effective.
And, as to his crocodile tears over the violence – really? I don’t recall any tears for the hundreds of black-on-black deaths in cities where such violence is rampant yet largely ignored by the Hands Up movement and this administration.
Worse, I don’t recall any tears being shed at the funerals of our fallen military heroes or police officers killed in the line of duty; although I’m not sure I could believe those either.
November cannot come soon enough!
