George’s Bee columns delight to read

Roger George is so great. Having fished as a child and gutting golden trout for dinner, I am no fisherman.

Yet I look forward to Wednesdays because of his stories. They are a true delight to read. He is so humble, his stories educational and entertaining. The deference he pays his wife is beyond honorable. My favorite part is the catch-and-release aspect of his (second) love, life and job. It is the sport – not the bounty. He is a total class act.

My mother died a year ago and my brother, who lives down south, visited the Valley quite often last year. Roger George came up out of the blue last year, and Tom told me that he trained for the Los Angeles Olympic Trials with the same Roger George. Track and field.

Tom told me Roger was one of the nicest guys he had ever met and was so accomplished in his event(s). I can only concur by reading his weekly column. This guy is a peach.

George is the Rev. Norman Vincent Peale of our time. He is so positive, so inspirational, so human and so honest. He is one in a million.

“Never give up!” Thank you, Mr. George.
