Mormons deserve religious protection, too

I was appalled to read a Dec. 31 article in The Fresno Bee when it mentioned my religion, which is Mormonism.

It states that according to the poll by the Associated Press and the Norc Center for Public Affairs Research “About seven in 10 said preserving Jews’ religious freedom was important, while 67 percent said the same of Mormons.” In another section of the same article it stated: “83 percent of Democrats said the religious protections were important for Christians, while only 67 percent said so for Muslims.”

Mormons are Christians, and we have never caused any trouble to rank our freedom of religion as low as the poll indicates.

I do not feel we, “the Mormons,” deserve such low ranking in our religious freedom protection determined by the general public.
