Americans love violence, demand lethal doses

In a recent letter written by Lin M. Terrana (Dec. 30), she pleads for the people of America to rise up and put a stop to the massive media violence, which is saturating society in general and invading the lives of our children in particular.

Unfortunately, the people of America love violence and demand a continuous supply of gratuitous death and destruction in massive lethal doses. The media moguls, who are enamored by mega dollar signs, simply fulfill our insatiable need for instant gratification.

In passing, I wish to offer advice to those precious few who are disturbed and offended by the perverse nature of what they see and hear.

First and foremost, purchase a good quality flack jacket and strap it on immediately.

Then carefully and thoroughly barricade your doors and windows always remembering never to venture out unless it’s absolutely necessary.

If my suggestions are taken seriously and implemented very soon, you might get lucky and actually live long enough to witness and enjoy, at least, a few of those highly touted golden years.
