Slam the brakes on violent media
I was at the movies yesterday with my friends. All of us are avid movie-watchers. We thought we’d take a chance and see the new “Star Wars” movie. That afternoon, we saw an almost steady flow, about 20 minutes, of world-destruction movie previews before “Star Wars” even started. This has happened often before.
When the movie finally did start, it was more of the same thing – a constant bombardment of destruction.
I work for Fresno Unified School District, where disruptive behavior and student violence is seriously increasing. People, help stop this constant honoring of violence. Stop the amount going out over the media byways and into the minds of our younger generations, now forming their opinions of what life is about.
This is serious stuff. Let’s all help put the brakes on this a bit and do it now.
