Letter: Climate change is political power play
Maurice Strong (founder of the World Meteorological Organization): “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn’t it our obligation to bring that about?”
United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres stated that the aim of the Paris talks is “to change the economic development model that has been reigning...since the Industrial Revolution.”
The material submitted by the Bolivian delegation concluded, “We must destroy capitalism.”
Barack Obama showed he is on board when he declared that free-market capitalism “isn’t working now, hasn’t worked in the past, and won’t work in the future.” (He missed that part where capitalist economies increased wealth and reduced poverty to levels never before seen in world history.)
John Holdren, Obama’s science adviser, proposed “a transnational planetary regime should assume control of the global economy and dictate the intimate details of Americans’ lives – using an armed international police force.” If this stuff sounds Orwellian, it’s because it is and ought to scare any citizen who prizes his freedom.
An honest internet search will reveal hundreds of scientists who disagree with the notion that CO2 is the driver of climate change. We are being sold pseudoscience by politicians who want to control our lives.
