Don’t use vouchers for kiddie junk food
I recently made a visit to my local supermarket. While in the checkout line, a young woman with a small child was in front of me. She was purchasing some small chocolate doughnuts, white sugar doughnuts, bean dip, corn chips and some other assorted goo goos, zoo zoos and wham whams.
I then watched her pay for these items with a Women Infants and Children food voucher. I was under the impression that this program was to provide nutritious food staples for small children. I guess I was misinformed. Another sterling example of my tax dollars at work.
