I’m watching Trump with glee
Leave it to serial Barack Obama blamer and hater Victor Davis Hanson to foist the emergence of bombastic demagogue Donald Trump on the president.
In his Dec. 13 piece, predictably titled “Public discontent fuels Trump’s rise,” Mr. Hanson conjures up his usual insidiously specious rhetorical hocus pocus, by reciting the same old litany of GOP gripes about the president.
Most of Mr. Hanson’s disingenuous comments are logically unpalatable and generally require an elaborate suspension of disbelief by the reader, especially, since most facts and figures from reliable neutral sources indicate the president has turned the economy around.
Unfortunately for the American people, the existence of the political monstrosity that is the Trump candidacy rests squarely on the tea party, that detestable political viper that has swallowed up the Republican Party.
Mr. Hanson’s duplicitous ramblings cannot shroud the fact that Trump’s candidacy is fueled by support from a new group of tea party know-nothings who blindly and naively accept Trump’s Styrofoam promises and rely on race-baiting, xenophobia, and bigoted intolerance to drive the process forward.
Frankly, I am watching with glee as this whole sordid spectacle unfolds, knowing that it’s likely the thin-skinned, egomaniacal Trump will bolt the party and splinter the vote.
