Beware varying prices at Walmart

Beware: Clovis Walmart charges more than Fresno Walmart.

I visited the Walmart at Ingram and Herndon avenues, early on the morning before Thanksgiving.

I spotted a plush pink rocking horse and inquired as to its price, as it was not displayed. Upon learning that it was $19.99, I decided to purchase it, but wanted to know if they had a brown one too. Yes, but they were sold out.

I purchased the pink one and then immediately drove the 20 minutes to the Walmart on Herndon and Clovis avenues. The store did have a brown horse with no displayed price.

I went to purchase it. The price came up at $29.99. I showed the clerk my receipt for the pink horse to show the discrepancy.

Her supervisor told me that the brown horse cost more than the pink. I asked her to check her pink horse price to see if that was correct. After determining that the horses cost the same, I was then told that other Walmarts in the area compete with each other and can charge less.

Really? I guess we know which Walmart charges more, especially when there is no displayed price: Clovis Walmart.
