If Fresno State calls, say yes

In response to the letter written on Nov. 28 entitled “Beware Fresno State phone scam”: It’s critical to clarify that the telephone call was legitimately made by a Fresno State student.

Annually, we call our alumni and friends to invite support to help our students succeed in college. Fresno State has hundreds of campus phone numbers with a “278” prefix and our calling center uses a default 278-0000 number, which appears on the recipient’s screen.

Our students receive ongoing training and grow through these real-life exchanges. We hope when a Fresno State student calls, you will continue to boldly invest in our next generation of leaders.
