Why workers are bolting
I just read the article in today’s Bee “Last C-17 departs Long Beach plant.” People wring their hands and wonder why the middle class is leaving California. “The story says it better than I can.
“Boeing said that it expects to lay off 739 workers in the state this year, including 397 in Long Beach, 189 in El Segundo and 153 in Huntington Beach. The company has been moving operations to states with lower taxes and labor costs, such as South Carolina, Alabama and Oklahoma.”
