Valley Congressmen ignore domestic terrorism
It is truly sad to read, in response to the Paris tragedy, that all of our Valley Congressmen voted to put a halt to America allowing Syrian refugees to immigrate to our country. They cite a concern for domestic security. The facts and the hypocrisy of their vote shout much louder than their concern.
All of the prospective Syrian refugees being admitted to our country are trying to escape terrorism and have been intensely vetted in a process taking 18-24 months. More importantly, the terrorists in Paris were from France and Belgium and were not coming from refugee settlements.
We face a far greater risk from people already in our country who can buy all the guns and ammunition they want at gun shows, where background checks are not required.
If our representatives are truly concerned about domestic terrorism, they should start by closing the gun-show loophole.
