Restore the Fulton Mall
Darius Assemi did his homework to invest and build for “next gen-ers” downtown. These new residents will be walking to services, as in all large cities. I would bet that most who would move to this area would walk or bicycle if their needs are met for food sources, entertainment and restaurants. They would be better served by retaining the Fulton Mall and not by gas fumes and dirtier air.
On a recent visit to Arte Americas, my husband and I strolled south on the mall and were saddened to think that the fountains and other art work could be destroyed by moving it, and possibly get “lost.”
Mayor Ashley Swearengin wants something dramatic done to downtown. I vote to preserve the mall and spend that money on encouraging new businesses – not promoting the return of vehicle traffic and all the health issues that come with it.
