Halloween today is less treat, more trespassing

Thank you, Wayne Taylor, (letter Nov. 7) for describing the Halloween events that take place in many Fresno neighborhoods.

Some neighbors chose to vacate their homes during the Hallow-evening to avoid the trespassers appearing on porches and instilling fright. The Fresno dentist who pays $1 per pound for collected Halloween candy could be the incentive for making the large hauls.

Whatever the end is for these groups of Halloween visitors, the practice is trespassing and unfair to homeowners. One household ran out of treats after depleting his arsenal of 700 pieces of candy. He sent a runner for additional treats when his levels were “wiped out” in the early hours of the invasion.

To the groups who practice grabbing fair game, please find another tradition to entertain your families.
