How to provide wreaths for each veteran’s grave

Wreaths Across America will hold its 3rd annual wreath laying ceremony on the graves of veterans at the Clovis Cemetery on Dec. 12 at 8:30 a.m. This will be the first year Wreaths Across America will be laying wreaths on the graves of veterans at the Academy and Redbank cemeteries.

Weaths Across America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and thanking our veterans for their service and sacrifices. The tradition of laying wreaths to honor our veterans during the holiday season began in Harrington, Maine in 1992 when Morrill Worcestor of Worcester Wreath Company was left with extra wreaths at the close of the holiday season. He donated 5,000 wreaths to be placed at the headstones of veterans in an older section of Arlington National Cemetery.

What began as one man’s gesture has now grown into a national movement. If you would like to help, sponsor a wreath or get more information, please call Linda Branam, location coordinator, Wreaths Across America, Clovis Team, at 559-916-2259 or August Flach, location coordinator, Wreaths Across America, Academy and Redbank Team, at 559-999-1948.
