Celebrate freedom, not Civil War

I am puzzled that every year this event takes place. How can you celebrate Civil War battles that cost such a massive loss of life on both sides?

Why don’t you go all out and re-enact World Wars I and II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam and the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which to this day still claim American soldier lives. And don’t forget 9/11. Why not celebrate and be thankful for the freedom you have because of the ultimate sacrifice given by all that died to keep us free!
