Celebrate our cleaner air
In regard to “Smoky September clouds record” (Oct. 25): I was surprised that the off-road construction rule, the diesel truck and bus rule, Proposition 1B funding (retiring thousands of trucks and several locomotives) and the millions of dollars spent on retiring polluting agricultural tractors were not mentioned.
It is more than the mild weather which produced the exceptional reduction in ozone. We have all sacrificed through taxes and upgrading to the latest emissions technologies to make the ozone reduction possible. It is time to celebrate our accomplishment. It’s not just the luck of the weather.
