Let’s rename Granite Park after Fresno ballplayer Frank Chance
I just read the article in The Bee about restoring the sports complex called Granite Park. Every time I drive by the park, I think what a waste this has become. I would like to thank the people at City Hall for taking this project on like Mayor Ashley Swearengin, Paul Caprioglio and others.
I also read that they want to rename the park. I would like to make a suggestion. How about this Fresno ballplayer from the past, Frank Chance. The name alone means baseball. Some say he was one of Fresno’s first super sports heroes. Maybe the Chance name would bring the park good luck. Please think about it.
