Congress should investigate gun violence
Another day, another mass shooting in America. Everyone hardens their existing positions – sane gun laws vs. you’re not taking my gun away. Nothing ever changes.
Here’s an idea. How about having Congress investigate gun violence in the U.S.? It has investigated everything from baseball to Whitewater – how about they put some energy into doing something that might actually help? It could gather statistics and interview experts from all sides in an effort to find causes and potential solutions. While the members are at it, they should question police chiefs and first responders. I’ll bet those on the front line every day have some ideas.
