How Fresno Police Officer Ruben Barron found Charlotte
On the night of Sept. 26, my dog, Charlotte, sneaked past me as I was coming in the front door.
After noticing she was not in the house, I became frantic. Some friends and I immediately started roaming the neighborhood calling her name. Walking along Olive Avenue, Patrol Officer Ruben Barron from Fresno Police Department rolled up.
I gave him the story. He said he would keep an eye out. Minutes later, he came to my house. He spotted her but she would not come to him. He drove my friend and I to where he saw her, but she was no longer there. Barron drove us up and down streets for 30 minutes looking for her with no luck.
He dropped us off at home and we continued our search. After 10 minutes, he called me, and he was following her. We pulled up, and I grabbed her. I had my baby back.
Officer Barron did not have to do what he did, especially on a Saturday night in the Tower District. He was a true hero that night for me and Charlotte.
Thank you, Officer Barron! There are great officers in the police department; we need to hear more about the good they do.
